Each morning at Lake Titicaca the Elders and the community greeted the sun at an ancient Incan fertility temple near the hotel. The local people were very happy that we did this as the temple had not seen ceremonies like this for a very long time.

Amayra Elder pilgrims traveling to Bolivia were guided to be at the Lake and unexpectedly appeared one day for council with the Elders of Central and North America. Each day a community council was held where these Elders shared their prayers for peace and unity as well as the wisdom of their ancestors.

Don Alejandro Cirilo Perez Oxlaj, a 13th generation Quiche Mayan High Priest and President of the Mayan Council of Elders as well as the Indigenous Council of the Americas, shared messages and wisdom of the Mayan people with the Elders of the Americas and the community.

Prior to journeying across country to Amaru Muru’Äôs doorway the Elders and the community went to a shrine that is the entry point for the journey. Here they left those energies that would not serve them on this journey, feelings, emotions, fears and then opened themselves up to receive the gifts of the Sun, the Condor and the Puma.

On the day of the Equinox the Elders and community traveled to Amaru Muru’Äôs doorway; Hopi Wisdom Keeper, Ruben Saufkie of the Hopi Water Clan, shared the eagle dance with the spirits of the condor that were with us as we journeyed across country to the doorway.

At Amaru Muru’Äôs doorway each of the Elders and then the community stood in the doorway, there is a hole in the doorway that when standing is aligned to our solar plexus and when kneeling aligns to our third eye or center of out forehead. There are many legends about the origins of the doorway; the energies of it were very powerful for those open to receive its gifts.

The Elders and community gathered at the reed islands of Lake Titicaca on reed boats. As we reached our destination for ceremonies led by the local Elders of the islands the boats were tied together in a rectangle. None of us could have imagined the beauty and power of this moment as the Lake, which many believed holds the divine feminine energy of Mother Earth, moved the Elders and others to share songs and prayers for the Earth and humanity.

Uqualla of the Havasupai shares prayers and songs at Lake Titicaca as ceremonies were held on the reed boats at the reed islands of the Lake.

The local Elders of the lake did a ceremony for the Lake that offered up our gifts of prayers and intentions for Peace and Unity.

Our Earth Works for Humanity and Earth Dance family that had traveled to Peru gathered together to express our joy and gratitude to all of those around the world that had supported the Elders Gathering at Lake Titicaca.
