Sacred Fire-Water Ceremonial Run

The Sacred Water-Fire Run left Mexico City on July 7th, 2007 and will arrive in Hopi Land Arizona on July 28th, 2007 for two days of sacred ceremonies.

Last year a group of forty Hopi ran from their homeland in Arizona to Mexico City, 2,000 miles away to the heart of the Aztec Nation. Carrying water from their Sacred springs they brought forth a prayer and teachings from the Hopi Nation to the 4th World Water Forum in Mexico City for the whole world, of the need and importance to respect and preserve the Water to insure a future for our children and all life. The impact of the run and the ceremonies reverberates to this day. It was truly historic.

Now in return the Aztec people are running 2,000 miles to Hopi Land carrying their Sacred Fire. The bringing together of the Water and the Fire represents the Prayer they will carry of New Life for All People. The significance of these runs between the peoples of North and South America is a response to the prophecies and recognition of the need to rebuild the Confederacy of the Eagle and Condor for the benefit of all beings. The Hopi runners will meet the Aztec runners on the Mexico Border on the 21st of July and continue running together to the Hopi homeland in Arizona.

The runners will be greeted all along the way by elders and ceremonial leaders from Pueblos, villages, and Towns. To find out when they will be in your area, please refer to the schedule below. Communities are welcome to participate in the ceremonies and prayers that will be happening in their areas.
