Dream Rings Around
Mt. Fuji * Mt. Shasta * San Francisco Peaks
August 19, 2007

Earth Works for Humanity invites you to be part of a global project focusing on unity and a better world. We are proud to announce various local school children in Sedona, Arizona will be supporting these efforts with their dreams and visions from the Southwest region.
A young Japanese man named Taishi started the project Fuji Yume Matsuri. He had a vision of changing the world in a positive way. He decided to ask people to write their visions and dreams on the white handkerchiefs, sew their dream handkerchiefs together and created a circle on top of Mt. Fuji with their Dream Ring. The intention is to focus positive thoughts, dreams and visions together and imagine the world as one.

Tanabata, the star festival of Chinese mythology, is celebrated in Japan on July 7 each year. The Japanese write their wishes, dreams, and visions on Origami and decorate bamboo trees throughout their region. According to the lunar calendar, July 7, 2007 will correspond on August 19th, 2007. This year, Taishi decided to celebrate Fuji Yume Matsuri on Tanabata from the top of Mt. Fuji. The Dahli Lama has expressed interest in supporting the efforts. Last year, this event brought more than 18,000 people together in Japan alone. It was able to be seen from the sky and the media broadcasted the event as Happy news from Japan. This year more than 30,000 people have written their dreams on white cloth and are expected to participate. EWFH will be joining efforts with a Dream Ring gathering from the sacred San Francisco Peaks in Arizona.

The pictures of the gatherings will be incorporated into a documentary movie and be viewed to all the schools throughout Japan. Please refer to Taishi’Äôs website for current information and view a movie trailer: http://www.fujiyume.com/movie/2006.php

EWFH organizer, Adam Yellowbird made a proposal to Taishi to support the efforts and bring together our energies from three sacred mountains; Mt. Fuji, Mt. Shasta, and San Francisco Peaks. Adam expressed, "I believe that combining our efforts of positive consciousness and unity will continue the healing between Japan and our continent; especially working with our children." Our organization and many local volunteers will be hosting this event at the Lower Basin of San Francisco Peaks on August 19. We would like to gather at 9am to prepare for ceremony at 10am. Let us unite and celebrate life with our children, drumming and singing. Bring your own picnic lunch, water, sunscreen and white cloth to write your prayers, visions, and dreams. Carpooling is encouraged.

A brief excerpt how the Dream Ring has changed a community.

A young 8th grade girl in Japan committed suicide. She was a straight A student yet no one knew about her loneliness. Her friend wanted to change the school and the community so these things never happen like this again. She noticed that we can't solve the problem just by blaming each other. The important thing is that we create a connection with each other. She decided to stand up and change the community with the Dream Ring. She brought the project to her school and all the students participated. They went door to door and asked people to write their dreams and visions to connect together and care for one another. One young girl changed a whole town. That is how the Dream Ring started to spread throughout Japan.

It is fun to draw and write about our dreams and visions. It makes me feel like a child again. The feeling of having fun is very important to change the world with positive energy. I imagine a world where all the children will be able to have a wonderful dream. ~Nana
